As a consultant, Ascend NBS aids grantmakers in offering capacity-building services for their grantees and partners.

We offer a variety of webinars, in-person and virtual workshops, and staff and board training as a way to share best practices and build the capacity of grant-seeking organizations. Topics include Organization and Grant Readiness, Grant Research, Grant Writing, Understanding Your Ecosystem, Collaboration and Partnerships for Newly Established Nonprofits’, Collaboration Models to Reduce Expenses and Increase Profit and Impact, Diversified Funding, Grantmaker/Funder Relationships, Systematizing Grant Departments for Efficiency, Best Practices in Hiring Grant Department Staff, What Happens After You Hit Submit: Understanding the Grant Review Process, Grant Project Budgets and Budget Narratives, Holistic Programming for Maximum Impact, Data & Metrics: Evaluation, Collection & Use, and Story-telling with Numbers and Narrative.

Each of our grantmaker engagements is tailored to the goals of the grantmaking organization and the unique relationships they have with their grantees and other partners. Ascend NBS develops and delivers on-site, in-person, virtual, on-demand, and web-based instructor-led training services via short (one hour, half day, full-day, 2-3 days, etc.) and longer courses (six and eight weeks) to individuals and small and large groups.
